Slide gates control the flow of water on sluices or water dams. These gates do not function properly at low temperatures. Gain and gate-guide heaters are special, custom-built heaters that can be accommodated inside special shafts built parallel to guides to provide adequate heat in order to prevent ice formation and insure the proper operation of slide gates. These heaters have NEMA 4 terminal boxes and special mounting brackets to facilitate their installation. Gain and gate-guide heaters in general are made at 480V or 600V.
